TulaJane Eco Events :: Five Easy Ways to Green Your Workplace
Friday, October 17th, 2008
1. Get everyone involved in being green. Set some initiative for staff to want to focus on being environmentally friendly. Encourage your customers to reuse their bags or have cloth bags available.
2. Use alternative cleaning materials or enlist the help of a green cleaning company. Use less toxic products.
3. Use energy to a minimum, turn lights off, turn down the thermostat, don’t leave the radio on. Maybe look into using an alternative energy source like Bullfrog Power.
4. Have as little disposable product or material as possible. Use ceramic cups rather than having paper ones, have silverware available, and rags instead of paper towel, etc. You can also look into biodegradable options if a disposable product is needed.
5. Recycle not only your waste when you can, but also any product or appliance. Donate leftover food to a soup kitchen or create a compost, donate clothes or toys to a worthy foundation, and make sure if an appliance can’t be reused, it goes to the Eco-Station. Create as little landfill waste as possible.
